New Beginnings

Well, it's here, the new beginning. I was done working on Friday for Weber State University. It was a learning experience and I'm grateful for the friends that I made there. They touched my heart in ways I would never have imagined when I started there 2 almost 3 years ago. I made so many neat friends.

So it was a little weird getting up today and not being on the run to get ready for the day or have anything planned to do. Oh, over the next few weeks I will have to get the house packed and get ready to move and I'll be busy, but it's crazy not having to get up and hit the floor running. I even have time to bake cookies and listen to music while I enjoy doing it. I'm looking forward to this new time in my life.

I am looking forward to having time with my kids and Sam and being home for them when they come home from school and work. It will be fun being here to talk to them and hear about their days. It's not like we never talked before, but sometimes when I got home from work I got busy making dinner, doing household chores and basically trying to make things run smoothly. Now I'll have the time to have things done and then be able to just settle in and be here when I'm needed. I think I'm reallly going to like this. I feel peace and contentment right now. It makes me smile.

A New Ride. . .

I can't believe it's been 15 days since I last wrote. Time is flying by. My last day at work will be this Friday. It has been an adventure. It's nice that it's winding down and I am looking forward to new and different things to fill my time.

My time will be filled by running "H" to all of her soccer games, practices and tournaments, and that's not really new, but it adds to the fun. She is what keeps me young. I will also be packing to move and getting things ready to go. We are working on things for the new house and that will take some time. And we'll also be helping a little with "P and J" and getting things done before the wedding. It makes me wonder how I would have done it all and still worked. I can't even think about it without it boggling my mind. But I am so excited for this new adventure to begin. I can't even tell you . . . I'm almost giddy with excitement!!

I listened to a talk on Sunday and in it our bishop referenced that fear and worry cannot co-exist with faith and courage. It really made me think. I want to be the type of person that goes forth in faith. I want to be the kind of person that is willing to take those leaps and know that all will be well. That is how I'm looking at this new road that we are taking in our lives. I think it's a wonderful thing to grow and learn and think about new and different things. This will be quite the ride and I think I'm going to throw my hands in the air and laugh and scream and just have fun! I will let you know how the ride is going as we move down the road!!

Sunshine

Today I was out walking around the Weber State Campus. I have 13 days left until I leave. It has been a wonderful experience and I've been blessed by many great friends while I've worked here. As I was out getting my Employee Release signed by the many departments that need to clear me before I leave, I was able to just enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The sun was shining and it reminded me of how much I've gained here. I've been able to take classes and help students. I've been able to walk the duck pond with friends while on breaks, and been a part of the book clubs. I've been able to help almost all of the secretaries on campus at one time or another and I've throughly enjoyed every minute. I will miss the campus in the summer. It is a slower time and you can really enjoy the beauty. I wonder if I would have felt the same way on a cloudy, dreary day? I would hope so, but today I was able to enjoy the sunshine and I'm so thankful. It gives me peace in my heart.
