New Beginnings 2022

We began this year in an apartment while our new home was finished.  We moved in in May and are so grateful to finally be in a home again.  Sam picked the area (Clinton) and the house plan.  I have tried to make our home ours and a lovely place to come home to.  It is now September and it is finally feeling like ours.

Our ward is a very young ward.  We are some of the oldest people in our ward.  There are about 8 couples that are our age and the rest vary in stages from young families to families with teens.  Sam and I serve in the Primary activity days for the 8-year-old boys.  They are a different group to work with.  Some are very active and some would just rather sit and be still.  It is sometimes hard to figure out activities for them.

In June Logan and Maria had another sweet boy.  His name is Brooks.  He will have to be a tough little one to withstand his older brothers, but they are very sweet with him.  I think Kenley was disappointed that she didn't get a sister.

In August Maddi and Chris had another little girl.  She is such a sweet and quiet little thing.  They are naming her Natalie after her aunt Natalie that died about 20 years ago.  Aunt Natalie had a special place in Maddi's heart, in all of our hearts truth be told.  It is nice that we will have another Natalie in the family.

Summer has been so very hot and without rain or moisture.  I guess we are lucky we haven't put a yard in yet.  We will probably do a little this fall and then really get after it this next spring. It will be a lot of work.

In July Emma was baptized.  Sam and I went and enjoyed time with Maddi's family for that wonderful event.  We then brought Leola home with us for a couple of weeks.  I think she had a great time being the only one with us.  I rented a car and took her back home then spent a couple of weeks with their family when Maddi had her little Natalie.

We went on 2 cruise vacations with our friends the Slagowski's and the Laytons.  Our first one was in May and we went on the Oasis of the Seas to the Bahamas and Florida.  It was a very rocky ride due to the remnants of a hurricane.  This past week we went on another one on the Navigator of the Sea.  We were supposed to go to Cabo San Lucas and then to Ensenada and back to port in LA.  However due to another hurricane they cancelled Cabo and we spent one very rocky night on our way to Ensenada where we spent 2 days.  We enjoyed our time there.  We even went to church there on Sunday.  I couldn't understand anything that was said, but I really enjoyed the Spirit that was there!

Almost all of the grandchildren are in school.  Maddi's girls are being home schooled.  Parker and Jamie and Logan and Maria's kiddos are going to public school and Hannah has Juni in Pre-school.  Logan and Maria's little Grayson is also in Pre-school.  The only ones left not in school are Maddi's Charlotte and Natalie and Logan's little Brooks.  It seems like time flys and they all grow up way too fast.

We are planning on having a family reunion next June up at Maddi's home.  I think it will be a wonderful time.  We are still having our 3rd Sunday get togethers with all of the kids still in Utah.  This Sunday we will celebrate Hinkley and Sam's birthdays.  I am looking forward to that.

I didn't write about it but in December, Dad Cornaby passed away.  We have tried to incorporate more time with Mom Cornaby as she is our only parent left to enjoy.  She usually comes to the 3rd Sunday get togethers with us.

Maddi's family will be coming to visit in October.  Chris has to help make some decisions for his birth father, so the whole family is coming.  I am hoping that they bless Natalie while they are here with family.  It will be so good to have everyone here together.  Maddi and Chris will spend Thanksgiving and Christmas up in Washington.  I miss it when we are all scattered and not able to get together.

I have been thinking about talking to the bishop about working at the Temple.  I am also working part time with Sam.

I have been having some side effects of my Mast Cell.  I have a lot of inflammation in my right hip and am going in tomorrow for a steroid injection.  I am hoping that it helps with the pain so that I can get back to I normal activities.  I have gained so much weight this year and I want to be able to walk or swim to lose it. I have had quite the time trying to get this under control this year.  It hasn't been working so I have been going to Drs again.  I know it is my trial to bare, but sometimes it is a real pain (no pun intended).

That is it for now! Life is moving on and I want to stay up with it!
